Vega
CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
Of noble blood, Vega has successfully blended the Japanese art of Ninjitsu with the skills he learned as a matador. The result is a beautiful - yet fearsome - ballet which has earned him the nickname of the "Spanish Ninja." Vain and egotistical, Vega lives by the philosophy that beauty is strength. Despising anything ugly, Vega views himself as "perfect" and uses a mask to prevent his face from becoming scarred in battle. Used by M. Bison primarily as an assassin, Vega often dispatches his opponents by using his claw. As a Spanish Ninja, Vega is a powerful - and feared - fighter. An underling of Sagat, Vega has plans to take over as warlord the moment Sagat's power weakens. Vega is extremely arrogant and considers himself so good looking that he fights with a steel mask to protect his face. Don't trust this fighter for a second, and watch out for his trademark steel claw! He was seemingly killed by Ryu in the climactic final battle at Bison's base. However, Vega somehow managed to cheat death and returned to his egotistical way of life until Bison summoned him to prevent a trade conference in exchange for Dr. Kapuna's youth formula. Although he managed to secure the formula temporarily, his attack was foiled by Blanka, which resulted in the destruction of the formula and in a deadly, ongoing grudge between the two.

THOUGHTS ON THE CHARACTER:
Vega is another nice addition to the Street Fighter universe. Jay Tavare does a great job as Vega. He doesn't have a lot of dialogue, but his fight scenes make up for this minor detail. He also looks exactly like the character, and he manages to show some of Vega's personality traits (his vanity and his ego). Paul Dobson's performance is quite energetic and graceful at the same time. Even though Vega is apparently killed by landing on his own claw in the movie, he somehow manages to survive in the cartoon. He still retains his egotistical and arrogant personality. Vega is an extremely well received character due to his personality and somewhat unique moveset.
